What was the "Zenith Cup"?
Hi there, I hope one of you can help...
My Father in Law told me this afternoon that he went to see Everton play in the "Zenith Cup" final at Wembley approx 1984. When I pressed him about the competition he couldn't remember anything else about it. (He is quite frail and elderly.) My question is this: What was the Zenith Cup??
Was the Zenith Cup the name of the League Cup at that time? Was it one of these mini-tournaments held in the close season? Please help! I've checked on google and answers.com and I am non the wiser. It's so puzzling... I'm a huge footy fan and I have never even heard of this competition until this afternoon!!

The Zenith Data Systems Cup only ran for about 7 years (1985 - 1992) after the Heysel Stadium disaster when all the English clubs were banned from Europe.. it is also the only piece of silver that Crystal Palace have won
