Does anyone know where to find ACOUSTIC transparent material of the projection screen? (The cheaper the better)?
I a screen for an unconventional project. Someone told me recently that movie screens are perforated for sound, but when you 're standing behind them as they are projected onto, you can see through the other side. Similar to the illusion decals advertising on trams, where outside, they appear to be covered completely, but inside you can always compare with virtually no distortion. If the screen material is really translucent film on the back when it is projected onto, what is the best (and least expensive) way to find this material?
Acoustically transparent (not adapted to a screen material to allow any sound to pass through), no ... translucent and suitable acoustic screens HD video ... sure. See link. But ... I'm not sure that's what you want. Acoustic screens translucent are used so that the speakers can be mounted behind the screen. To function as a screen, it can not be optically transparent (It should reflect back light). On the other hand there are translucent screens for rear projection (The projector is behind the screen, relative to the observer). But if the screen is visually and acoustically transparent and used for the front (reflection) of projection, you will see the speakers and get very little reflected light. That all said, Phifer - Business which manufactures equipment for Seymour AV - make a wide range of sun protection equipment in a range of degrees of transluscency. The screen material (5%) is one of the options they are ... then perhaps a solar protection material (rather than the screen material) work better for you. I hope this helps.
