What island should I go to in the Bahamas?
I am going on my Honeymoon at the end of September and I was wondering which island we should go to. Based on what I have researched so far, Exumas, Acabos, and Harbour Island sound good. I am not looking to go to Paradise Island because I am not interested in the night life scene or crowded-ness. I am mainly interested in kayaking, fishing, swimming with dolphins, snorkeling/diving, and beautiful scenery. Oh, and of course good food. Thanks for your help!
Just to clarify since there seems to be confusion, I DO NOT want to got to nassau/paradise island.
These three Islands which you have researched are the Most beautiful Islands.
Harbour Island is smaller than the other two, quaint, and Historical,with many fine Restaurants..
Abacos, , where Nature and beauty are at their best. These are chains of Islands with a Ferry Boat Service to connect them.. Marsh Harbour is the Main Town. Many choices in things to do.You can get away from it all on a cruise to nearby islands.
Exuma, These are also chains of Islands, with Waters so clear that you can see the bottom of the Sea.
Every type of Water Sports, Peace and tranquility are what they promote. If you want a Night out, they have this as well. Small cozy Restaurants, with good food...
Also, plan to rent a Golf Cart, an easy way of getting around.
I have visited all three, but fell in love with Hope Town, one of the smaller islands in the Abaco.Chain.
