I am starting my xmas shopping now so I do not go broke. I am still paying for school and so much more and cannot work right now since I am on bedrest due to pregnancy complications. SO..is it too cheap or stupid to make fleece pillow and blanket sets for the teenage girls in my family? I figured they would use this more than me trying to buy clothes for them. Also my teen cousins 16 and younger are from a wealthy family and have everything! Any other ideas? I thought the pillow and blankie combos would be nice with a bubble bath soap and chocolate dipped pretzels. what do you guys think? Any other suggestions? I think the no sew blankets are great. And if you can make something yourself its always a nice gift. Give each one its own personality with the fabric you choose (if ones into sports, get sports fabric, or pick their favorite color).
As for the cousins what about doing a movie night gift basket. Get a few DVDs you think they might like, or get a gift card to Blockbuster and put them in a basket with microwaveable popcorn, candy, maybe some cool drink or something and there you have a nice present.
I do think that the bath soap idea is nice as well. They can always use it.
